Little Storm: a collection of striking but wearable jewellery combining delicately textured metals, contrasting colours, and a love of line and shape.
Claire set up Little Storm in 2013 after studying jewellery design and silversmithing on the side of her day job working in an architectural design studio. Her years spent working in the architectural world helped her to develop a keen eye for the geometric, as well as an interest in manufacturing techniques such as casting. She enjoys playing with the contrasts you can create between hard metalworking materials and softer elements such as a lace printed texture, a delicate surface pattern of drilled holes, or a flash of brightly coloured enamel.
Claire makes all her jewellery designs by hand, using traditional silversmithing techniques to hand cut, form and texture metals. She then develops some of her handmade designs into small production runs, produced by fine casters in East London. Pieces are produced in a range of different metals, usually a mix of silver, bronze and gold-plated silver, with all final construction, finishing and polishing work completed by Claire in her home workshop, in Hackney.
You can often find Claire at Crafty Fox markets and other craft and design fairs in and around London, where she enjoys meeting new customers face to face.
