Elizabeth is a potter based in Limehouse, East London. She works from the small studio at the bottom of her garden, where she throws and fires all her ceramics. She loves the individuality of hand-made ceramics, where each piece is very slightly unique. It is for that vases are her favourite thing to make, as there are so few restrictions in shape. She also enjoys experimenting with different forms, clays, shapes and materials - gold leaf designs are currently her favourite addition to a dish.
Elizabeth read English Literature at Oxford University and worked in the City for several years, but was gripped by a ceramics evening course, and decided to set up her own business and pursue a more creative career. She is also a writer, and is, slightly predictably, writing a novel featuring a Victorian pottery business. She is expertly assisted by her glaze-mixing husband, and slightly less expertly assisted by her two mischievous kittens.
